Regardless of your political orientation, this new pattern from Mochimochi Land makes for a good distraction while waiting for election day to arrive. If only the real candidates were equally cute and lovable!

In that world, there would be no need for elections. Everything would just be so freaking happy and cute. (And I love that little trunk.)
If only!

With every new creation you make, I end up with a new crush! I love the tubular trunk on the elephant! So cute. I hope all the little creatures you make get along well!
About pitas: I used to have trouble with mine not puffing up too, and then I made two changes to my method (1) a REALLY hot oven, around 500 degrees-well preheated-in combination with a pizza stone; and (2) not rolling the pita circles too thin.
I have also found that once you roll the dough into circles, letting it rest for 10-15 minutes allows the pita dough to fluff up a bit, making it more likely to puff in your oven. Don’t give up! If you want the recipe I use, let me know, and I can email you it.
